Founder & Lead Developer

Founder and project lead; oversees development and infrastructure. Riggs is the owner and key to the success of Ordinance, serving as the main programmer and only mapper. With at least 7 years of development experience, he is the backbone of the project.

How do I join the Project Ordinance server?

Joining Project Ordinance is easy! Follow these simple steps:

What is the difference between Black Mesa and Blue Shift roleplay?

Project Ordinance combines elements from both Black Mesa and Blue Shift to create a way different roleplay experience

Black Mesa

  • Research personnel and scientists conducting experiments
  • Administrative and maintenance staff
  • Pre disaster daily facility operations
  • Research divisions: Anomalous Materials, Lambda Lab etc.

Blue Shift

  • Security personnel and daily routines
  • Sector C and transit system operations
  • Security protocols and facility protection
  • Interactions between security and civilian staff

Our custom map incorporates locations and scenarios from both games.

What are the main server rules?

Here are our core server rules (full rules available in Discord):

  • No RDM/RDA - Random Death/Arrest is strictly prohibited
  • Stay In Character - Stay IC at all times during RP
  • Realistic RP - Act according to your character's role and knowledge (this includes PG etc.)
  • No Metagaming - Don't use out-of-character information in RP
  • Be Respectful - Treat others the way you want to be treated. Use appropriate language and avoid bullying, harassing, or discriminating against other users
  • Quality Over Quantity - Focus on meaningful roleplay interactions
  • No ERP - Explicit roleplay is not permitted, we dont want weird people in our community
Breaking rules may result in warnings, kicks, or bans

What character roles can I play?

We offer a lot of character roles to suit different roleplay preferences

Scientific Personnel

  • Make experiments and research
  • I mean its literally self explanatory

Security Forces

  • Patrol and protect the facility
  • Become a Supervisor

Support Staff

  • Maintenance Personnel - Keep systems running
  • Administrative Staff - Handle paperwork and logistics
  • Medical Personnel - Provide healthcare services

Each role has specific responsibilities, clearance levels, and access permissions. Choose based on your preferred roleplay style!

Do I need specific addons or mods to play?

Yes, you'll need our Workshop Collection to play. This includes

  • Player models and NPCs
  • Facility props and decorations
  • Custom weapons and equipment
  • UI and HUD elements
  • Audio packs
  • Our custom map files

The collection is automatically downloaded when you connect to the server, but we highly recommend subscribing to it beforehand for faster loading and no issues.

Is there an application process for characters?

Yes, all characters require approval to ensure quality roleplay and lore consistency.

Application includes:

  • Character name and basic information
  • Background story and education
  • Personality traits and quirks
  • Reason for working at Black Mesa
  • Roleplay experience (optional)

Application Process:

  • Submit application through our Discord bot
  • Staff review (usually within 24-48 hours)
  • Possible interview for senior roles
  • Approval notification and server whitelist

We maintain high roleplay standards, so take time to craft a detailed, lore-friendly character!

What happens during "The Resonance Cascade" events?

Periodically, we run special "Resonance Cascade" event scenarios that recreate the disaster from Half-Life.

  • Facility wide emergency and evacuation procedures
  • Alien creature spawns and hostile encounters
  • Military intervention and HECU operations
  • Survival scenarios and escape attempts
  • Character development through situations

How do I report issues or get help?
